DISINFO: A ceasefire would lead to the Nazis using more Ukrainians as cannon fodder
SUMMARY
The Russian armed forces' failure to carry out their assigned tasks would paralyse them and damage their morale. This would also entail enormous material costs for halting the forces that have been advancing with unparalleled success for three years and are nearing the end of their mission. This, of course, would give the other side the opportunity to reorganise its affairs, compensate for its losses in ammunition and weapons, and mobilise more cannon fodder, represented by the brotherly Ukrainian people, who are under the influence of the Nazi regime in Kyiv.
RESPONSE
This is a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative portraying Ukraine’s democratically elected government as a "Nazi regime" and its people as unwilling participants or "cannon fodder" in the war.
The deaths of many Ukrainian citizens and soldiers is the outcome of Russia's unprovoked and unjustified full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and Russia stands as the sole party responsible for such deaths. Ukraine is only acting in self defence to repel the Russian invasion as enshrined in the UN Charter Article 51. Ukraine's sovereignty has been violated many times as a result of continuous acts of aggression by the Russian armed forces since 2014, culminating with a full-scale military invasion of Ukraine starting on 24 February 2022.
