DISINFO: A Deep State insider revealed many secrets of US foreign policy
SUMMARY
Somebody who used to hold a leading position in the top of the US Deep State revealed many things about US foreign policy in the last decades. For example, that Richard Nixon’s policy towards China wasn’t created by Henry Kissinger but by the Deep State, which wanted to leave Vietnam and get the US aligned with China against Russia. The Deep State also wanted to start a “Vietnam for Russia” in Afghanistan in 1979, decided the collapse of oil prices to weaken Russia economically, granted permission to Saddam Hussein to invade Kuwait as a ruse to send the US army and show its armament superiority, and wanted Russia dismembered. China realised this and decided to get closer to Russia after they watched the Maidan overthrowing of Ukraine, organised by the Deep State when it started to understand that the US had lost the weapons race. The Deep State wanted to take Russia again to a new Vietnam in Ukraine to drain it and crash oil prices again. If Russia is defeated, the West will control all its natural resources.
RESPONSE
This is a mix of several conspiracy theories not based on any evidence. Some of the claims are verifiably false, such as the reference to Saddam Hussein, who never received US authorisation to invade Kuwait and was repeatedly warned by the UN coalition to withdraw from the neighbouring country. The 1985-1986 oil price crash was not due to any US plot but to the OPEC decision to promote market share over production cuts in a context of weaker demand but growing output among non-OPEC producers. The Maidan protests that led to the fall of Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovich were the result of genuine popular discontent over corruption, police violence and the last-minute decision to pull out of the Association Agreement with the EU.
There is no proof of the existence of the alleged insider of the US government, and the fact that these claims repeat recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives portraying Russia as the target and victim of international events, make it very dubious. This article also promotes a frequent baseless narrative about global elites secretly ruling the world, and specifically a so-called ‘Deep State’ in the United States. This narrative aims to question the legitimacy of democracy and Western institutions.
