The article misrepresents a job listing on the American website Silent Professionals, a recruitment agency for security and safety jobs. The vacancy involves work in Ukraine. However, it is not related to direct participation in combat operations. The job description, titled "Extraction/Protective Agents", states that the employer is looking for a specialist for operations to evacuate individuals and families from rural areas and major cities in Ukraine.
Furthermore, foreign nationals who take direct part in combat operations on the side of Ukraine are not mercenaries. Unlike mercenaries, they join the Ukrainian Armed Forces and are subordinate to their command. Foreigners fighting for Ukraine receive the same salary as Ukrainian citizens. Those Legionnaires who do not wish to sign a contract with the Ukrainian Armed Forces join volunteer battalions. They do not receive material benefits - most of them have personal, ideological reasons to defend justice and the rights of Ukrainians.
