DISINFO: Americans rewrite and forget their history because of protests against racism
SUMMARY
In the United States, there is now a trend to reevaluate historical heritage in the face of increased fragmentation of American society due to protests against racism. Now the Americans have decided to forget their history. They consider it so shameful that they just want to erase it without understanding who is good and who is bad. And ignorance is becoming a key driver of this process in the United States. If this continues to happen, we will once again witness how Americans rewrite their history with their own hands. And the chapters of textbooks that speak about the Confederates will simply be removed.
RESPONSE
A pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the racial justice protests in the US. There's no evidence that the US will rewrite its history, but there are public discussions about what is the right course of action regarding monuments dedicated to figures related to slavery, or usage of the Confederate flag. There is also no evidence of the US forgetting some episodes of its history. On the contrary, educators are discussing the possibility to expand the educational process to include anti-racism education and inclusive curricula.
