DISINFO: Assassination of Russian general is proof Zelenskyy does not want peace
SUMMARY
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy does not want peace. At the very moment when peace seemed to be emerging, or at least an attempt to start talking about peace, Zelenskyy committed a terrorist act. Zelenskyy signed his and his regime's death warrant. He is the main and only person who does not want peace and is afraid of it. If there is peace, there will be no Zelenskyy. And he knows it.

The claim was made in the context of the assassination of Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, head of the Russian Armed Forces' radiation, chemical, and biological defence troops, in Moscow on December 17, 2024.
Ukraine has not officially claimed responsibility for the killing of the Russian general, but sources in Ukrainian law enforcement agencies confirmed to journalists that the special operation to liquidate Kirillov was carried out by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). Day before the assassination, on December 16, 2024, the SBU reported in absentia about suspicions against a Russian general who ordered the use of banned chemical weapons against the Defence Forces of Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has consistently stated that he wants peace on terms that ensure Ukraine's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and security. His position has been clear: peace cannot come at the cost of surrendering Ukrainian land or compromising the nation's independence. He presented a 10-point peace formula in October 2022 which includes, among other things, demands for full Russian troop withdrawal, food and energy security, release of prisoners of war and deported civilians, and justice through an international tribunal for war crimes. Zelenskyy has sought international support to pressure Russia into negotiations based on Ukraine's terms. Many Western nations back his stance, viewing peace without justice as unsustainable. A broad coalition of more than 50 countries support Ukraine by supplying it with military and financial aid in order to help it repel Russia’s unprovoked and unjustified aggression.
