DISINFO: Colour revolutions provoked by the US and NATO created migration crisis

Recurring disinformation narrative from pro-Kremlin outlets about colour revolutions orchestrated by the West. This claim attempts to diminish the responsibility of Belarus for the situation on the EU-Belarus borders.
“Colour revolutions” is a term used by pro-Kremlin outlets to depict popular protests that have occurred in recent years in various countries and that have arisen spontaneously for various reasons related to controversial domestic policies or serious social issues, such as the protests in Catalonia, Ukraine with Euromaidan, Georgia, Belarus, Hong Kong as well as the protests in Russia.
The border crisis was caused by Belarus as a response to EU sanctions imposed on Minsk for its oppressive measures against the political opposition. There is plenty of evidence that the Belarusian authorities have instigated the ongoing tensions at the EU borders.
The president of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said that situation on the EU-Belarusian border is not a bilateral issue of Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and Belarus but a hybrid attack against the whole EU. The vice-president of the European Commission and high representative of the European Union for foreign affairs and security policy (HRVP) Josep Borrell stressed that responsibility for the migration crisis falls on the Lukashenka regime.
Investigations have revealed that the Belarusian regime is encouraging people from conflict zones in Africa and the Middle East to come to Minsk. They are driven to border countries such as Lithuania and Poland after that and left there to ask for asylum status.
