DISINFO: Covid-19 vaccines are more dangerous to most people than the virus itself
SUMMARY
Covid-19 vaccines are more dangerous to most people than the COVID-19 virus itself. COVID-19 is not a serious danger for most people. The majority of people should not be exposed to the danger of the vaccines.
The spread of fear and panic about COVID-19 has enabled a mass vaccination campaign based on non-tested and non-approved experimental technology. This campaign has primarily benefited Big Pharma’s profits.
RESPONSE
This is an anti-vaccination narrative, presented without evidence, claiming the existence of health hazards connected to COVID-19 vaccines. This narrative has been spread as part of the pro-Kremlin disinformation campaign about the coronavirus, which has often relayed false health information and has promoted anti-vaccine messaging.
The claim that vaccines are more dangerous than the virus is a recurrent narrative spread by anti-vaccine propaganda. According to studies conducted by academics, all anti-vax messages contain three elements: “COVID-19 isn’t dangerous”; “vaccines are dangerous”; “you can’t trust doctors or scientists.”
COVID-19 has killed millions of people worldwide and is a potential risk for entire populations around the world.
Vaccines are currently the most effective weapon of prevention and containment of the pandemic.
COVID-19 vaccines are tested, approved, constantly monitored, and developed on the basis of the same legal requirements for pharmaceutical quality, safety and efficacy as other medicines. Like all medicines, COVID-19 vaccines’ effects are first tested in the laboratory, including on animals, then vaccines are tested on human volunteers.
Covid-19 vaccines are also the most effective medical tool to protect citizens from the most serious effects of the virus. The vaccines have been authorised by the competent authorities after three phases of trials and tests that have established their effectiveness on hundreds of thousands of people.
Although there can be adverse reactions to vaccines, the most common of these adverse reactions are mild and temporary. Serious adverse reactions are considered rare, according to publicly available, monitored and investigated data on vaccine-related issues. Vaccination data are publicly available and updated on government platforms such as those of the United States, Canada and Europe. As of 20 July 2021, more than 3.73 billion vaccine doses have been administered worldwide. In a June 11 page update, the US CDC said it received 5,208 reports of deaths of people who received the vaccine between Dec. 14, 2020 and June 7, 2021 (here). It also says that the reports may contain information that is incomplete, inaccurate, coincidental, or unverifiable, because anyone can anonymously report events to the US vaccines monitoring platforms. Also, extensive fact-checking on reports of deaths caused by anti-Covid vaccines has been published online as well as the denials of these reports by control bodies, such as the European Medicine Agency on AstraZeneca.
The manipulation and misuse of Covid-19 vaccines public data have been repeatedly reported as the basis of anti-vax campaigns supporting the theory that Covid-19 vaccines are as dangerous as or more than the vaccine.
Furthermore, the article suggests, without presenting any evidence, that the real goal of the anti-COVID 19 vaccination campaign is not public health but the growth of Big Pharma’s profits. The so-called Big Pharma conspiracy theory did not emerge with the Covid-19 emergency but has a longer history. The narrative of Big Pharma profiteering at the expense of public interests and public health is one of the main messages of this narrative.
