DISINFO: Drones shot down near Murmansk could have been launched from Finland and Sweden
SUMMARY
Sweden and Finland may have taken part in today's attack by Ukrainian drones on the Murmansk region. Before the UAVs were destroyed, Swedish aircraft flew along the Russian border. It was an S102B radio and radio-technical reconnaissance plane, as well as a Gulfstream Aerospace TP 102C (G-IV-SP).
According to preliminary information, after reconnaissance flights, two A-22 "Flying Fox" aircraft-type drones were launched from the Finnish Ivalo airfield. They were destroyed by air defence forces.
It is noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces planned to strike the Olenya airfield in the Murmansk region.
RESPONSE
Disinformation aimed at the Nordic countries.
The General Staff of the Finnish Defence Forces, General Janne Jaakkola, told Yle that the accusations are not true.
"The territory of Finland has not been and will not be used for alleged actions against Russia," the statement said.
The Finnish General Staff added that Finland and its allies are monitoring the situation and will not comment further.
"It should be noted that this is a case of possible Russian information interference, and the allegations made should be viewed critically," the Finnish General Staff said.
It is noteworthy that, despite detailed information regarding the alleged involvement of Swedish and Finnish aircraft in the drone attack in the Murmansk region, pro-Kremlin media has circulated an alternative narrative, claiming the drones originated from Norway.
