This is a recurring pro-Kremlin narrative that seeks to discredit western liberal-democratic societies by claiming that“globalism” and/or global elites rob nations of their sovereignty and identity, and seek to establish a “world government”.The term “globalist machine”, used in the article, suggests that there is a “Shadow World Government”, an idea that in itself is also a recurring pro-Kremlin narrative.
It is not true that the US, the EU, “global élites” or the globalisation process“destroy nations and states”. Marked economy and economic globalisation increase economic interdependence among nations but do not engender the loss of national sovereignty nor do they lead to the destruction of nation-states and the creation of a “world government”. The role of the nation-state has actually increased in recent years and this trend has become more pronounced in times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Furthermore, it is not true that the governmental structures of the United States and of the European Union are fictions, bogus entities through which the interests of the “globalist machine” are managed. This is also a conspiracy theory about global secret elites.
