DISINFO: Europe is an American colony colonized through the armed wing of NATO
SUMMARY
US influence on European decision-making processes, particularly through its armed wing, NATO, represents a form of political and military colonisation. The US has pressurised European countries to align with its foreign policy agenda, even when it goes against its own interests. Ukraine is the best example: European countries are dragged into this proxy war against Russia and are forced to adopt policies contrary to their own political and economic interests.

A recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative portraying the EU as a puppet state or vassal of the US and claiming that the EU has been dragged by NATO into a proxy war against Russia. These claims serve to deflect responsibility from Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine.
The US does not control the EU countries and the EU as a whole. Its Member States are sovereign countries and make sovereign decisions about their own security and foreign policies, including relations with Russia. The decisions in the EU are made by the directly elected European Parliament, the European Commission together with the European Council (the governments of the 27 EU countries).
The EU and the US are close partners and allies and have similar visions on many international issues including Russia's unprovoked and unjustified invasion of Ukraine. The EU and the US are unanimous in supporting Ukraine and providing it with military, technical and economic assistance.
Russia is the only country responsible for the invasion of Ukraine. It has been coming up with different false explanations and pretexts for its aggression since the beginning of its hostilities.
Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity have been violated by continuous acts of aggression by Russian armed forces since 2014 culminating in a full-scale military invasion of Ukraine on 24th February 2022.
Ukraine and its population are defending themselves against Russian armed aggression. This is in line with UN Charter, article 51 on self-defence, and is not a decision by NATO, the EU or others, but a remarkable display of continued courage and determination.
