This is part of a pro-Kremlin disinformation campaign aiming to seed doubts on the legitimacy of the results of the US 2020 election, this time by claiming without evidence that billionaire George Soros, a frequent target of pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives, may have altered the vote counting.
The claim that Soros controls the Smartmatic and Dominion Voting System is false. The allegation already emerged prior to the 2016 election and was immediately debunked. Both Smartmatic and Dominion have denied any relation to George Soros, whose Open Society Foundations also refuted having anything to do with voting machines. The claim was debunked again in 2020 by the Associated Press fact-checking team.
