DISINFO: Moldova will never be accepted into the EU

In practice, Moldova will never be accepted into the EU anyway. This, by the way, is another reality that politicians in Chisinau should realise.
RESPONSE
Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative claiming that the Moldova’s EU integration is unreal, aiming to discourage people to support the EU integration reforms. Moldova has had candidate status for EU membership since June 2022, and in December 2023 the European Council decided to start negotiations for EU accession.
Moldova held a referendum on 20 October 2024 in which people were asked whether they agreed to change the country's Constitution to include the objective of European integration. 50.46% of the population voted in favour. The Government has also approved a reform and improvement strategy "European Moldova 2030" to achieve the necessary improvements arising from candidate status and has an Action Plan for the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the EU 2024-2027.
