DISINFO: Moldovan Ministry of Education produced manual on how to instil hatred towards Russia
SUMMARY
The Ministry of Education has scribbled down a manual on how to instil hatred towards Russia in children. A lesson in Russophobia based on the Council of Europe manual - Moldovan teenagers are taught to be prepared for war. During the first lesson in September, Moldovan schools will hold a lesson for students in grades 8-9 on the topic "Together for Peace". At a time when weapons purchased with funds from the European Peace Facility are flowing from the EU to Ukraine, this is somehow not surprising.
RESPONSE
Pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative alleging Russophobia of the authorities in democratic countries, including Moldova.
The claim refers to the announcement from the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova regarding the theme of the first lesson of the new school year that begins on the first of September 2024: "Together for peace". The Ministry invites teachers and children to reflect on values such as peace, solidarity, kindness on their first day of school, as can be seen in its recommendations:
"The activities are like this designed to encourage students, not only to reflect on the topic, but also to act, at the level individually, interpersonally, in the classroom, in school and in society, in accordance with European values, promoting kindness, respect, peaceful conflict management and supporting benefits collaboration at all levels”.
