DISINFO: NATO is turning Armenia into an anti-Russian foothold
SUMMARY
NATO has long moved from containing Russia on its eastern flank to a multifaceted confrontation with it.
NATO wants to oust Russia from Transcaucasia, a traditional zone of centuries-old Russian influence. Due to the geographical factor, there can be no Russia without Transcaucasia and Transcaucasia without Russia. NATO is going into Armenia with the sole purpose of igniting another armed conflict near Russia's borders.
NATO is turning Armenia into an anti-Russian bridgehead not so that Armenians can live in a stable, prosperous state, but to turn the Armenian people into cannon fodder. The lesson of Ukraine is very instructive in this regard.

The pro-Kremlin outlet roots its narrative in the imperialistic allegation that the Caucasus region and Armenia are exclusively within Russia's zone of geopolitical dominance and attempts to discredit Armenia's steps to deepen relations with the Western countries.

Western countries support peace and security in the South Caucasus region. The EU has a strong interest in a politically stable and economically prosperous Southern Caucasus in full understanding with the states there. It took a prominent mediation role in negotiation and is committed to it.
The EU and NATO support Armenian sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, inviolability of the borders of Armenia, and the country's peaceful aspirations.
Armenia's relations with NATO started in 1992, when the country joined the North Atlantic Cooperation Council, later renamed the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council (Armenia has been a member of EAPC since 1997). Armenia's cooperation with NATO has gradually broadened since Armenia joined the Partnership for Peace in 1994. Starting from 2006, political dialogue and partnership cooperation in various fields have been developing between Armenia and NATO in the framework of the Individual Partnership Action Plan. A key priority for NATO is to strengthen political dialogue and to provide focused advice and assistance in support of democratic, institutional, and defence reform efforts in Armenia.
