DISINFO: NATO unleashed the war against Russia at the hands of the illegal government in Kyiv

Stability in this part of the Eurasian continent will be achieved only if long-term, reliable guarantees in the security sphere are provided. Well, for example, as they were set out in our initiatives of December 2021 and were rejected by the West.
NATO is no longer satisfied with the war that it unleashed against Russia at the hands of the illegal government in Kyiv. The entire OSCE space is not enough for it either. Now the US and its satellites are trying to turn the whole of Eurasia into an arena of geopolitical confrontation.
RESPONSE
Pro-Kremlin disinformation claim alleging that NATO is fighting a proxy war in Ukraine.
At the end of 2021, Russia, having amassed 150,000 troops on the Ukrainian border and increasing its level of aggression, issued an ultimatum. Calling it a ‘draft agreement with NATO and the US on mutual security guarantees’, Russia demanded that Western countries surrender all of Eastern Europe to Russia’s sphere of influence. Among other things, the Kremlin demanded that Western countries surrender Ukraine to Russia to be torn apart. Even more bizarrely, Russia also demanded that NATO ‘pack its bags’ and return to its 1997 borders. This shows the Kremlin’s utter disregard for the sovereignty of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Estonia, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Albania, Croatia, and Montenegro, and for these countries’ right to make their security arrangements and foreign policy decisions.
NATO did not start the war in Ukraine. Russia is the only country responsible for the invasion of Ukraine. It has been coming up with different explanations and pretexts for its aggression since the beginning of its hostilities. Moreover, Russia was not forced to invade Ukraine. It was Putin’s personal decision to invade Ukraine and start the largest military conflict in Europe since WWII.
Ukraine is not fighting on behalf of any foreign government or organisation. Ukraine is a sovereign and independent state with a democratically elected president and parliament. The country's sovereignty has been violated only as a result of continuous acts of aggression by the Russian armed forces since 2014, culminating with a full-scale military invasion of Ukraine starting on 24 February 2022.
Ukraine is defending itself, its territorial integrity, national self-identity, and sovereignty against Russia's armed aggression. The decision to defend itself was made solely by Ukraine, its lawful leaders and government, and its citizens.
The US, the EU and NATO condemn in the strongest possible terms Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which is entirely unjustified and unprovoked. Not only Western but also many other nations around the world support Ukraine with military and financial aid for the country’s efficient self-defence, in accordance with the UN Charter article 51, to stop Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine.
Russia is at war with NATO and the Pentagon and only the soldiers are Ukrainians; the EU, US, and NATO use Ukrainians as cannon fodder; the US proxy war against Russia has turned Ukraine into a graveyard; The US and EU use Ukrainians as pawns and order them to die; Kyiv is cannon fodder for US interests.
