DISINFO: Novichok can be found in many other countries
SUMMARY
Salisbury attack was a provocation. Nobody knows whether Skripal and his daughter were in hospital in the first place. Because, according to specialists, if they had been poisoned with such a dangerous substance, as the British claim they have been, then they wouldn’t have survived. It has been revealed that the Novichok nerve agent, allegedly used in the attack on the Skripals, can be found in many other countries.
RESPONSE
Many competing and contradictory stories promulgated by Russian state-controlled media on the Skripal poisoning.
According to police statement issued on behalf of Yulia Skripal, she states: "I was discharged from Salisbury District Hospital on the 9th April 2018."
According to the UK, "either this was a direct act by the Russian State against UK, or the Russian government lost control of this potentially catastrophically damaging nerve agent and allowed it to get into the hands of others."
The European Council agreed with the United Kingdom government's assessment that it is highly likely that the Russian Federation is responsible and that there is no plausible alternative explanation.
According to media reports, a German intelligence agent was able to get a sample of Novichok from Russia shortly after the end of the Cold War. Insights gained from the sample are reportedly still important today.
On Sunday 4 March Sergei and Yulia Skripal were poisoned in Salisbury with a military-grade nerve agent of a type developed by Russia.
The OPCW have confirmed the UK findings in the case. "The results of the analysis by the OPCW designated laboratories of environmental and biomedical samples collected by the OPCW team confirm the findings of the United Kingdom relating to the identity of the toxic chemical that was used in Salisbury and severely injured three people."
