DISINFO: Finland has been dragged into a new Barbarossa operation against Russia
SUMMARY
Finland has decided officially to provide Ukraine with weapons to resist to Russian special operation.
The reality is quite different: it is a new Operation Barbarossa against Russia. The Ukrainian Armed forces are totally corrupt and the Finnish weapons are sold to Russia or to any country by corrupt [Western or Ukrainian] officers.
Besides, Ukraine commited genocide in the Ukrainian territories they did not control. Finland is now an accomplice of genocide, since weapons are used to eliminate civilians.
RESPONSE
Recurrent pro-Kremlin disinformation technique, using western marginal and extreme right wing outlets to legitimise disinformation, in this case picking and magnifying a claim made by a Finnish fringe outlet.
Finnish fringe outlet, MV-Lehti, is a website that regularly attacks Russia’s critics, immigrants, Jews and the European Union. It involved itself in particular due to the Jessikka Aro case. In 2018, the website was involved in a trial with a judge issuing prison sentences and fines for the harassment and slandering of journalist Jessikka Aro.
The claims in the article not consistent, if all weapons sent to Ukraine are sold on the black market including to Russia by corrupt officers, then they cannot be involved in a genocide against Ukrainians by its army or in a massive plan to conquer Russian territory in a modern Barbarossa operation [Nazi-Germany's 1941 attack on the USSR], on the contrary, it would help Russia in its attempt to defeat Ukraine.
Claims of a genocide of Ukrainians by the Ukrainian army have also no grounds. The Ukrainian authorities did not systematically exterminate or abuse people living in the conflict zone. The claimed dead people – military and civilian alike - are a result of a war Russia started in Ukraine. It is not an internal civil conflict but a well-documented act of aggression by Russian armed forces, ongoing since February 2014. The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine which has closely monitored the conflict had observed no such genocide.
Claims of conquest of Russian territory by Ukraine are not backed by any facts. The claims that Ukraine was about to attack illegally occupied territories before the Russian invasion were also false.
