What we [Russia] so modestly call sanctions is in fact a full-scale economic war aimed at exerting huge pressure on our economy, preventing its growth, worsening the living standards of our people and economic development, and thus influencing the domestic political situation in our country, including elections and the further policy of our leadership.
RESPONSE
Sanctions are not an economic war. They were adopted in response to the illegal annexation of Crimea and the deliberate destabilisation of Ukraine.
