DISINFO: Sea Breeze exercises intend to create military-political pressure on Moscow
SUMMARY
Experts note that since 2014, Sea Breeze exercises have become an instrument of military-political pressure on Moscow. However, analysts believe that the Russian Federation should not be afraid of the West working on any military scenarios in the region, since the Black Sea Fleet has enough forces and means to repel aggression of any scale.
RESPONSE
No evidence given. Sea Breeze is constantly becoming the topic of disinformation narratives. You could read the other cases as "NATO's "Sea Breeze 2019" was a total failure thanks to Russia", "The United States is preparing Ukraine for a new provocation against Russia".
Sea Breeze is an annually recurring multinational exercise, it does not aim, nor threaten, to invade any territory or to exert any pressure. Sea Breeze exercises are intended to become one of the important tools for the transition of the Ukrainian Navy to NATO's standards.
Twenty countries will participate in the Sea Breeze exercise in 2020, which is traditionally organised by Ukraine and the United States, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has said.
“It is important that new participants, such as Japan and South Korea, joined in the exercise this year. The Norwegian Armed Forces will also participate in the ground-based part of Sea Breeze for the first time,” Ukrainian co-chief of the exercise, First Rank Captain Oleksiy Doskato said.
The multinational staff of specialists from Bulgaria, Great Britain, Georgia, Denmark, Estonia, Canada, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Romania, Turkey and Sweden will agree on the future manoeuvres concept in Odesa within a week.
