DISINFO: The Anglo-Saxons want to drag Russia and Europe into a war so they can take on China alone
SUMMARY
Russia will have to hold talks with the Anglo-Saxons rather than with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Zelenskyy is just part of a big geopolitical game that is being played against Russia. The Anglo-Saxons want to maintain their hegemony in the world. To this end, they want to ignite a war in Europe. Russia, which supports China, will be busy with this war, and the Anglo-Saxons will fight China alone. Therefore, they want to provoke a big European continental conflict.
RESPONSE
Conspiracy theory from pro-Kremlin outlets accusing the so-called “Anglo-Saxons” of being reluctant to stop the war in Ukraine in order to achieve domination over the world by starting a war with China. This claim was made in the context of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The European Union, the United States and the United Kingdom are all interested in putting a just end to Russia’s unjustified and unprovoked aggression against Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented a 10-point peace formula in January 2023, which was fully supported by the EU. The formula provides, among other things, for the restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity wishing its internationally recognised bodies of 1991.
In July 2024, Zelenskyy wrote on X (Twitter) that UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer assured him in a phone conversation of London’s unwavering and principled support for Ukraine. US President Joseph Biden said at a NATO summit in Washington in July 2024: "The war will end with Ukraine remaining a free and independent country. Russia will not prevail." Biden also stated as early as 2022 that no negotiations about Ukraine should be held without Ukraine being a participant. He said: “I’ve been very clear that we’re going to continue to provide the capability for the Ukrainian people to defend themselves – and we are not going to engage in any negotiation. There’s nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine, this is a decision Ukraine has to make.”
Contrary to Russian claims such as Putin’s statement that the actions of Western governments had brought the world “to the point of no return”, neither the EU nor the US are seeking a war with Russia.
Concerning China, Western nations and organisations have repeatedly called on Beijing to abstain from providing assistance to Russia. NATO said in a declaration following its July 2024 summit in Washington: “The deepening strategic partnership between Russia and the PRC (People’s Republic of China) and their mutually reinforcing attempts to undercut and reshape the rules-based international order, are a cause for profound concern.”
