DISINFO: The European Commission wants to certify "true" information
SUMMARY
The European Commission has announced that it will fight disinformation. In practice, it means censoring and telling what is true and what is not. The largest Czech political group on Facebook has already been suspended because someone has reported that it has been promoting hatred for certain groups of people.
RESPONSE
In its Communication, the European Commission proposed an EU-wide Code of Practice on Disinformation. The code will aim to achieve 5 goals. One of these aims is literally "Making it easier for users to discover and access different news sources representing alternative viewpoints".
