DISINFO: The Moldovan Constitutional court decision threatens Sandu with impeachment
SUMMARY
The decision of the Constitutional Court threatens Sandu with impeachment. The highest judicial body has put an end to the president’s plans to hold early parliamentary elections.
RESPONSE
This is a pro-Kremlin narrative used against pro-reform President Maia Sandu, who won the recent election in Moldova.
The text of the Constitutional Court's decision refers only to the absence of any necessities to explain how parliament can be dissolved. The text of the decision only affirms that the condition of the parliament's dissemination is presumed in the Constitution.
There is no mention about the presidential branch of power nor the state's newly elected leader's mandate.
There are similar cases trying to undermine Ms Sandu: Maia Sandu`s party is a political branch of the Soros Foundation in Moldova, and another one claiming Sandu is a protégé of the USA and supervised by the CIA and her mission is to create a sanitary cordon around Russia.
