DISINFO: The Polish elections were falsified, the US embassy decides who wins
SUMMARY
All Polish elections have been falsified. The US embassy in Warsaw ultimately decides. In case election results do not meet the embassy’s expectations, they are falsified. The US, Pentagon, and State Department are not interested in the change of Polish authorities.
RESPONSE
A recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the alleged lost sovereignty of the EU member states, particularly Poland (see more examples) to coincide with the latter's Parliamentary Election which took place on 15 October 2023. Pro-Kremlin outlets often portray the EU and European states as vassals, puppet states, or colonies of the US and NATO.
Poland is a sovereign state, which shapes its own foreign and domestic policies. The political, economic and military relations between Poland and the United States have a mutually beneficial character. Read more about Polish-American relations here, here and here. There is no evidence suggesting that the US interfered into Polish elections and that the elections were falsified.
Preliminary findings and conclusions of the OSCE International Election Observation Mission on the Polish parliamentary elections did not speak of the grave violations in the electoral campaign which could amount to altering election results. “Fundamental freedoms were generally respected, and voters had a genuine choice between political alternatives”, the OSCE report says.
Read earlier disinformation cases alleging that Polish elections do not matter as the country is ruled by the US and Germany, that Poland and Ukraine are the Anglo-Saxon puppets used to destabilise Europe, and that European governments led by Washington are promoting the American agenda.
