DISINFO: The UK wants to use Poland as cannon fodder as it did in 1939
SUMMARY
The British hyperactivity in our region of Europe should immediately raise suspicion. The last time this happened was in 1939 when London designated Poland as Hitler’s first war target.
Today, the London demagogues work on the separation of other countries from NATO in order to provide cannon fodder for the fight against Russia and create international players who can hamper the process of reconciliation. The “hot potatoes” such as Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia are still happy about it.
RESPONSE
Pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the UK and war in Ukraine. By accusing the UK of being the driving force behind the escalation of tensions in Eastern Europe, this narrative aims to deny any Russian responsibility for the unjustified invasion of Ukraine.
The claim that London pushed Hitler to attack Poland in 1939 is historical revisionism and is factually ungrounded.
The UK does not attempt to exclude Poland and the Baltic states from NATO. This disinformation message misinterprets media reports, according to which the Prime Minister of UK invited the Ukrainian president to form a new allainace.
The UK has consistently supported Ukraine in its fight against the Russian invasion, providing military and humanitarian assistance.
See related examples of disinformation claims, alleging that US and UK are mainly responsible for escalation around Ukraine; the US, UK and Canada tried to use Ukraine as a battery ram against Russia; and The UK wants to provoke a war between Ukraine and Russia in order to harm Europe.
