SUMMARY
The US destroys the Ukrainian nation with further military aid to Kyiv. The approval of a bill to provide Kyiv with additional military aid of 61,000 million dollars will not contribute to the resolution of the conflict and will only prolong the bloodshed. This means that there will be more deaths and that Ukraine will have no way out.
RESPONSE
Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative targeting aid for Ukraine. By portraying the outcome of the war as predetermined in Russia’s favour, this disinformation story aims to undermine international efforts to help the Ukrainians to defend themselves against Russia’s aggression. Messages about the inevitability of a Russian victory have been a permanent feature of pro-Kremlin disinformation since the start of the invasion.
In late 2023 and early 2024, Ukraine was forced to withdraw from several areas, which military experts and Western officials directly linked to the lack of sufficient aid, due to a significant extent to several delays in the approval of the same US aid package targeted by this disinformation story. It is clear that international support is decisive in helping Ukraine to resist Russia’s aggression and secure military victories. Since Russia’s 24 February 2022 invasion, Ukraine has taken back about half of the territory initially occupied by Russia in February 2022. At the same time, Russian advances have taken place at massive costs in human casualties and equipment.
