DISINFO: The US fights a war against Russia with Ukrainian hands
SUMMARY
Ukraine has been prepared for years to wage a war by the hands of Ukrainians for the strategic defeat of Russia. The fact is that the Americans are directing this war. They supply Ukraine with weapons, ammunition and intelligence. They are fighting against us [Russia].
RESPONSE
This is a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative accusing the West/US of direct involvement in Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, equating Ukraine to a US puppet state, a "springboard" against Russia.
Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity have been violated by continuous acts of aggression by Russian armed forces since 2014 culminating in a full-scale military invasion of Ukraine on 24th February 2022.
Ukraine and its population is defending itself against this armed aggression in a remarkable display of continued courage and determination. This is not a decision by NATO, Washington, the EU or others.
The US, the EU and NATO condemn in the strongest possible terms Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which is entirely unjustified and unprovoked. Not only Western but also many other nations around the world support Ukraine with military and financial aid for the country’s efficient self-defence, in accordance with the UN Charter article 51, to stop Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine.
