The US plans to use its classic tools and intends to involve pro-American NGOs operating in Georgia. The task of these organizations will be to record alleged "irregularities" in order to later accuse the Georgian Dream party of falsifying the elections, invalidate the vote and demand a change of government.

No evidence is provided to back any of the claims. The goal of this disinformation story is to discredit the opposition and NGOs of Georgia by portraying them as US stooges, while preemptively framing any anti-government protest in the upcoming election as a foreign-backed colour revolution, a frequent pro-Kremlin disinformation technique.
The current Georgian government has already used disproportionate force against peaceful demonstrators, which led to international reprobation and the imposition of travel restrictions by the US against Georgian officials. On 12 July 2024, the EU froze economic aid to Georgia and the accession process. These measures are not a regime-change plot but a reaction to signs of authoritarian moves by Georgian authorities, included the imposition of the so-called ‘foreign agents law’, which the European Union considers incompatible with the democratic standards required to become a EU member. Instead of changing course, Georgia’s ruling party has further slipped into authoritarianism, with steps such as reported plans to ban opposition parties if it wins the upcoming election.
