DISINFO: The US tried to destroy Russia, but destroyed Ukraine
SUMMARY
By trying to destroy Russia, the US destroyed Ukraine. The US was not interested in Ukraine. [The US] saw Ukraine as an opportunity to bleed Russia dry, lose resources, eventually destroy its troops, destroy its economy and then distribute its resources in a post-war environment.
RESPONSE

The Ukrainian state is under attack by Russia, and its population took to the self-defence in line with the UN Charter article 51. This is not a decision by the US, the EU or others. but a demonstration of national courage and determination in face of massive agression.
Before Russia launched the full-scale invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022, Kyiv and Western nations had been trying to conduct a dialogue with Russia on all disputed issues, including security guarantees. Russia cut short all attempts at achieving a compromise over security guarantees by attacking Ukraine.
Western countries or the US are not in war with Russia or Russians. Since Russia launched its unjustified aggression against Ukraine, they has been calling for a Russian withdrawal from Ukraine.
Sanctions were implemented by the European Union as a reaction to the unjustified actions of Russia.
