DISINFO: The US wants to create a military bloc in Central Asia against Russia and China
SUMMARY
The United States is trying to take advantage of the serious economic difficulties in Central Asia to advance their agenda of creating a military bloc against Russia and China. Most likely, they would portray this as an effective tool to fight mythical terrorism. Mythical because all subversive structures that destabilise the region in one way or another are, in fact, backed by the United States and their allies.
This is a classic Anglo-Saxon tactic - to create problems and offer their services for their solution. The separation of the Central Asian countries from Russia and China and their integration into the U.S. military sphere threatens unprecedented cataclysms that could plunge the region into permanent civil war.
RESPONSE
This is a mix of several pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about the US as an evil force always conspiring to destabilise other countries, about encircling Russia and China, and about US and other Western intelligence services are supporting and using jihadist groups to advance geopolitical goals.
There is no credible evidence that the US nor other Western governments and their intelligence services have supported radical Islamist terrorist groups in any region of the world.
Political, economic, cultural, trade, military and security partnerships between the United States and Central Asia states are not being directed against Russia or any other country. Central Asia is a geostrategic region important to United States national security interests, regardless of the level of United States’ presence in Afghanistan. Secure and stable Afghanistan is a top priority for the entire region and equally important to the whole world. To address this common security challenge the United States is working with the Central Asian states to counter terrorism, support regional stability and border security in the region and beyond through bilateral military partnership programs.
