DISINFO: The US wants to meddle in Russian internal affairs
SUMMARY
The US wants to enhance the disintegration process in Russia by putting pressure on Russia’s central authorities and encouraging conflict within Russian society. The West is interested to have a severe Belarusian crisis which in turn will lead to a political crisis and a change of government in Russia, thus harming both countries.

The claim that the US wants to meddle in Russian internal affairs in order to cause a change of government is not supported by evidence.
The claim that the USA is trying to organise a colour revolution in Belarus is also unsubstantiated. The protests in Belarus erupted to contest the results of the presidential elections in Belarus that took place on the 9 August, which are considered fraudulent by a large part of Belarusian society. By late November 2020, over 25 000 people have been detained in Belarus since the election.
