DISINFO: The West has an agenda in the Caucasus aimed at destroying historical ties with Moscow
SUMMARY
Washington is trying to create conditions for a break between Yerevan and Moscow. The American official has merely signed up to what Russia regularly talks about and warns our partners about, namely: the West is promoting a destructive agenda in the South Caucasus, the main goal of which is the same - to fragment the region, destroying Russia's historical ties with its traditional allies and neighbours. In the South Caucasus, the US seeks to subjugate the state governance, control the resource base, and use the transit potential.

This is the Kremlin's reaction to the statements of James O'Brien, the US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs. During a Senate Committee on Foreign Relations hearing about the future of Europe, O'Brien mentioned that the US Department of State has created a joint platform with Armenia to help reduce its dependence on Russia. He pointed out that "Russia had guaranteed Armenia's security after the 2020 war with Azerbaijan and long before that, but turned its back on Armenia when Azerbaijan reclaimed the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh. This has led to significant dissatisfaction, with the majority of Armenian society wanting to move away from Russia."
