DISINFO: The West may be behind the terrorist attack in Iran
SUMMARY
The terrorist attack in the Iranian city of Shiraz, claimed by the terrorist group Islamic State, took place in a moment when Western agencies want to create social stability in the country. What is at stake is the control of Western Asia, which Iran prevents, while control of Central Asia is prevented by China and Russia. A multipolar world is strongly emerging and the US wants to avoid the end of its own dominion. The Islamic State is an organisation created by the CIA, as Hillary Clinton admitted in her memoirs, to fight against Iran and Hezbollah.

Conspiracy theory not supported by any evidence and based in false premises. The claim that Hillary Clinton admitted in her memoirs that the CIA created the Islamic State is false: the allegation started spreading in 2014, including fake screenshots of Clinton’s new autobiography “Password 360” apparently showing an admission that the US and the Muslim Brotherhood had engineered the Islamic State. The original book doesn’t include any passage of this sort and the claim was quickly debunked, including an official refutation by the US Embassy in Beirut, but has been since regularly peddled by pro-Kremlin disinformation outlets.
By hinting that the terrorist attack that took place against the Shahcheragh Shrine in the Iranian city of Shiraz on 27 October 2022 may be a Western operation to destabilise Iran for geopolitical reasons, this disinformation story also aims to promote a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the West’s alleged support for terrorism. In fact, most Western countries -including the US and most EU members, as well as Canada and Australia- have taken part in the counter-terrorism mission Operation Inherent Resolve to fight against the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq, while the EU established its own set of actions to counter Daesh.
