This is part of a pro-Kremlin disinformation campaign to discredit Joe Biden’s electoral victory, undermine the faith on the US electoral system and promote Donald Trump.
All the claims are false. If Donald Trump is eventually found guilty in a second impeachment trial, he will be banned from running for office again, but the only consequence will be that the Republican Party will be forced to find an alternative candidate through the normal procedure of primary elections, not that the Democrats will have “absolute power”.
After the election of November 2020, the Democratic Party controls the White House, the House of Representatives and the Senate. However, the majority they have in this last chamber is too narrow, which most likely will allow them only to pass legislation that is not too controversial during this mandate. The situation may also change in the midterm election of 2022 for the House and the Senate, a mechanism of the US political system designed as a counterweight against a party holding too much power without accountability for a whole 4-year mandate.
Besides, a super-majority of conservative judges holds the Supreme Court, while the Trump Administration appointed a record number of federal judges. Therefore, the affirmation that Democrats will have “total control” is false. Also, conservative media like Fox News and One America News not only are not censored but are thriving in the Biden Administration, so there is no basis to affirm that the Democrats will be able to impose a “single thought”.
