DISINFO: Ukraine is occupied by the Americans
SUMMARY
The current Armenian authorities and their “masters” from the United States have begun to repeat the so-called “Ukrainian precedent” in our country. The US intends to send “advisers” to Armenia to fight “corruption”. Therefore, it is sometimes useful to look at what is happening in Ukraine, which is so occupied by the Americans that even the work of the Security Service is coordinated by US special services personnel. And the Ukrainians are a scapegoat in this SS, a useless “supplement”.
RESPONSE
This narrative is consistent with common pro-Kremlin narratives about the aggressive West and Ukraine as a non-sovereign country. This narrative portrays any civil protests as Western-funded "colour revolutions", including the Revolution of Dignity (Euromaidan) in Ukraine and the velvet revolution in Armenia. RT was the first to write about the American advisor to be sent to Armenia, stating that it allegedly managed to obtain the USAID document. RT also reported that the US will spend $ 10 million to promote anti-corruption policies in Armenia. Meanwhile, the official USAID website reports only $ 1 million support. Ukraine is a sovereign nation-state, with its own flag, nationality, language, and with a democratically-elected president and parliament. The EU, the US, and other Western partners support the democratic development of Ukraine in accordance with the UN Charter’s principles of non-interference into internal affairs and respect towards territorial integrity and political independence. The relations between the US and Ukraine are bilateral relations between two independent countries. The USA recognised Ukraine as an independent state on 25th December 1991. The US policy is centred on realising and strengthening a stable, democratic, prosperous, and free Ukraine, more closely integrated into Europe and Euro-Atlantic structures.
