DISINFO: Ukraine to build two military bases in Donbass, to allow the US to threaten Crimea
SUMMARY
Andriy Zahorodniuk told the Kyiv Post that Ukraine is planning to build two military bases in the Donbass, which comply with NATO standards. One would be in Severodonetsk and the other in Mariupol. It is clear that the bases complying with NATO standards are intended for the use of Ukraine’s allies and mainly the United States to allow them to threaten Crimea from behind.

In his interview with the Kyiv Post, the Ukrainian defense minister actually said that Ukraine plans to build several "good infrastructural projects" to show everyone that "we can also have a base in line with NATO standards," He mentions the bases in Severodonetsk and Mariupol as only two of the several planned projects. Mr. Zahorodniuk added that the main purpose of these plans is to improve the living conditions of Ukrainian soldiers in a push to prevent "the torrent of experienced officers leaving" the Army.
No indications have been given that Ukraine is planning to house allied soldiers in these bases.
