DISINFO: Ukraine's Nazi regime violated the obligation to refrain from strikes on energy facilities
SUMMARY
US peace initiatives are hampered by uncontrollable Nazism in Ukraine. Moscow reserves the right to respond symmetrically in the event of new attempts to attack Russian energy facilities. Moscow assessed the continuation of the Ukrainian attacks as a complete lack of willingness to negotiate. Despite the US-initiated agreement not to attack energy infrastructure facilities, which Kyiv appears to have officially supported, the Nazi regime's insidious attacks on Russian territory continue.
An oil depot in Kuban was hit on 19 March and the Sudzha gas measuring station in the Kursk region on 21 March. In addition, other barbaric cases were recorded in which Ukrainian drones deliberately attacked residential buildings and social facilities.
Kyiv is again demonstrating its complete lack of readiness to negotiate and unwillingness to make peace. As in 2022, provocations are again being carried out to disrupt negotiations.
Zelenskyy does not understand the civilised language of communication. With its actions, the Kyiv regime is once again showing that it will avoid a peaceful solution until the end because that would mean political death. The Kyiv regime no longer has a legal basis within Ukraine.
RESPONSE
Pro-Kremlin disinformation in the context of ongoing negotiations. There has not been agreed a ceasefire. This article accuses Ukraine of violating a US-brokered agreement not to attack energy infrastructure, labels Ukraine as a “Nazi regime” and claims it is disrupting peace negotiations. However, these claims overlook several key points. See the full debunk at StopFake.
Despite President Zelenskyy's willingness to halt attacks and Putin's alleged order to stop targeting Ukrainian energy facilities after his conversation with Donald Trump, Russia has not ceased its attacks on Ukrainian energy and civilian infrastructure. Russia has put up new demands. After the Putin-Trump call, Russia launched extensive missile and drone strikes across Ukraine, targeting energy facilities and civilian areas. There is no ceasefire.
On the night of 18 to 19 March 2025 — already after the telephone conversation between Donald Trump and Putin — Russia carried out another massive attack on Ukraine, using missiles and drones. This included the launch of 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles and four S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles, as well as 145 Shahed attack drones. The attack affected energy and civilian infrastructure in Donetsk, Sumy, Odesa, Poltava, Dnepropetrovsk, Kyiv, and Chernihiv regions.
Russia accuses Ukraine of violating the ceasefire, but evidence shows that Russia continues to launch massive attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure daily, using drones and missiles. This contradicts claims that Ukraine is solely responsible for disrupting peace efforts. In addition, on the night of 19-20 March 2025, just before the Russian Foreign Ministry's statements about Ukraine's ‘non-agreeableness’, Russia carried out massive shelling of the Ukrainian city of Kropyvnytskyi. This attack was the most intense for the city since the beginning of the full-scale war. More than 30 explosions damaged or destroyed 70 private and 17 flat buildings. The strike also injured 14 civilians, among them 7 children.
The Russian narrative that Ukraine lacks a legal basis within Ukraine and relies on foreign support is not supported by factual evidence. Ukraine's government is recognised internationally and has defended its sovereignty against Russian aggression. See our article Why is the Kremlin so hung up on smearing Zelenskyy?
Additionally, the myth of Nazi-ruled Ukraine appeared during the Euromaidan popular protests in late 2013 — early 2014, falsely presented in pro-Kremlin disinformation outlets as a coup. The Kremlin has been using this myth since then to discredit Ukraine's shift toward Euro-Atlantic policy.
Russian media often spread misinformation about Ukraine, violating agreements and engaging in provocations. However, these claims are not substantiated by evidence and serve to deflect responsibility for ongoing hostilities.
