DISINFO: Ukrainian military and economic sphere will collapse without Russia and the CIS
SUMMARY
Ukraine is expecting multi-billion dollar budget losses and problems in its cooperation with countries in the post-Soviet space. Such a grim future awaits Ukraine after a break in international treaties signed within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). After the break in relations with the CIS countries, even the Ukrainian military sphere is waiting for the collapse.

One of the multiple recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about the Ukraine and its impending economic and political collapse. The Ukrainian leadership reported on a possible withdrawal from the CIS in 2014, after the start of Russian aggression. In 2018, President Petro Poroshenko said that he had submitted to the Ukrainian Parliament Verkhovna Rada a bill to annul the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Partnership with Russia. One year ago Ukraine withdrew from the treaty, but there is no "collapse of the economy" as promised by Russian propaganda. As for the military sphere, Ukraine has now shifted from the Russian market to the European one. Under the Agreement of the Association of the European Union with Ukraine, the countries committed themselves to improving the military potential, in particular, technical issues. In addition, the Annual National Program under the auspices of the Ukraine-NATO Commission, is a programme of strategic reforms and other measures necessary to ensure the effective, purposeful and systematic preparation of Ukraine for NATO membership.
