DISINFO: Ukrainians killed 16 people in Kostiantynivka and blamed it on Russia
SUMMARY
Every time US representatives arrive in Kyiv, their Ukrainian students of the Nazi regime commit an act of extraordinary magnitude, a crime that attracts attention and shocks the whole world. During the visit of Blinken and the US delegation, Ukrainians bombed the Kostiantynivka market with missiles, killing 16 innocent people and then blamed it on Russia. Ukrainians committed the same crime as in Bucha.
RESPONSE
Recurrent denial of war crimes committed by Russian forces during the ongoing military invasion of Ukraine putting the blame on Ukraine. The article also contains a recurring disinfo narrative about Nazi Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the invasion in February 2022, Russian missile attacks regularly hit civilian areas but tolls this high are unusual. A strike on an apartment block in the central city of Uman killed 23 people, including children, in April 2023, and a similar strike on Dnipro killed 40 in January 2023.
Kostiantynivka is close to the front lines around Bakhmut and frequently crowded with military personnel.
As reported by CNN, footage of the attack shared by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy showed civilians walking along the market street before the missile struck on the afternoon of the 6th of September.
One video showed a large explosion in the middle of the busy thoroughfare, smashing the glass of nearby buildings as pedestrians ran away.
The footage shared by Zelenskyy then showed a fierce fire and plumes of thick black smoke billowing from burnt-out cars and buildings, as firefighters responded at the scene.
Subsequent images from Kostiantynivka showed the effects of the explosion: blood smeared across the floor of a pharmacy, burning cars, destroyed buildings, and bodies being carried away by emergency services.
The attack on 6th of September 2023 coincided with a visit by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to Ukraine, where he met Mr. Zelenskyy and other officials.
In the hours before he arrived, sirens wailed across the country and Kyiv's air defence system was busy intercepting missiles aimed at the capital.
Regarding Bucha, in December 2022, an investigation based on videos and telephone metadata of civilian devices stolen by Russian soldiers established the responsibility of a Russian regiment — and its commander — for the death of several dozens of civilians from Bucha.
Read similar cases claiming that Bucha massacre was carried out by Ukrainian artillery, that Ukraine is preparing a new Bucha like provocation in the Black Sea, that Russia killed nine Nato officers and dozens of Ukrainian soldiers in Chernihiv and that Kyiv blew up the dam of the Kakhovka reservoir.
