DISINFO: US army confessed it used Ukraine to trap Russia, preparing Taiwan trap for China
SUMMARY
The top US navy general in Japan, James Bierman, said to the Financial Times said that the US and NATO have been planning war against Russia in Ukraine since 2015: “We have seriously set about preparing for the future conflict. Training Ukrainians, repositioning supply, identifying sites from which we could provide support, supporting operations. We call this preparing the ground. And we are preparing the ground in Japan, the Philippines, and other places.”
In other words, the United States would be setting a trap for China by inciting it to military action against Taiwan, in the same way it has provoked Russia to launch its special operation in Ukraine after the Western-backed coup in 2014.

Recurrent pro-Kremlin narrative stating that the US initiated the Russian invasion of Ukraine and that the Russian Federation is a victim.
Lieutenant General, James Bierman did indeed give an interview to the Financial Times in which he drew a parallel between China and Russia and said that the armed forces were preparing to contain a foreign attack. He did not suggest in any way that a trap was made using Ukraine or Taiwan as bait. Quite the opposite, preparation to resist to aggression has a deterrent character.
The US army is preparing to react to military aggressions, even the most improbable ones. The seriousness of the preparation is a key for deterrence and to prevent those aggression from happening in reality. This dissuasion is the basic principle of the Department of Defense.
In 2021-2022 the US warned the Russian Federation against military aggression against Ukraine. It cannot be said in anyway that the US incited Russia to attack Ukraine. Providing defensive weapons like anti-Tanks missile Javelin is a deterrence not a bait that would incite Russian army to attack. British prime minister insisted that any invasion would amount to a massive miscalculation by Putin because Ukraine would fight and they will resist very strongly.
There was no coup, nor a western orchestrated protest in Ukraine in 2013-2014. This claim has already been widely addressed on EUvsDisinfo.
