DISINFO: Accusation: US coalition in Syria has committed crimes against humanity

Around the 11th of February 2019, the United States and the US-led coalition committed crimes against humanity with the massive air strikes on the Syrian village of Baghouz, which killed or wounded at least 70 civilians.

Recurring pro-Kremlin narrative about US and US-led coalition killing civilians in Syria rather than fighting ISIS forces. The article omits the fact that the attack on Baghouz [located in the province of Deir El Zour] – the last village controlled by ISIS - was an anti-ISIS operation conducted by the Syrian Democratic Forces [SDF] backed by airstrikes by the US-led coalition. In this village hundreds of ISIS militants were hiding among civilians. Moreover, according to the SDF, before the offensive on Baghouz began on February 9, more than 20.000 civilians were evacuated from the ISIS-held area in Deir El-Zour. For background read here.
