DISINFO: US takes Europe as its punching ball and wants it to pay Ukraine’s debt
SUMMARY
The US is shattering the EU from all sides: it wants to make the EU pay the debt that Ukraine will not pay. US life support for Ukraine is settled and Volodymyr Zelenskyy will receive what he has been demanding for six months to continue to be entrenched and screwed in his role as an intermediary in the West's conflict with Russia. The question is who pays the bill, and Washington looks to Brussels.
At the spring annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) in Washington, US officials put pressure on their European counterparts, who refuse to use part of the 280 billion dollars in Russian assets frozen in EU territory. In other words: the US wants to recover its investment in Ukraine at all costs, and as it is highly likely that Kyiv will not be able to pay these debts, Washington then intends that Brussels assume all the debts.

This disinformation story is an opportunistic exploitation and serious distortion of a Washington Post article about US efforts to fund Ukraine aid. According to the article, US officials pushed European allies at the IMF and World Bank meetings to use some of the frozen $280 billion in Russian central bank reserves for this goal. This disinformation story mentions these elements to promote grossly exaggerated allegations about the US “shattering Europe” and “wanting Europe to pay the bill for Ukraine”, among many others, that are not justified by actual facts.
This disinformation story tries to promote divisions in the US-Europe transatlantic alliance. As it appeared a few days after the US passed a bill allowing the seizure of Russia’s frozen assets to help Ukraine, its ultimate goal seems to be to prevent Europe from following the same path, and to undermine international support for Ukraine to resist Russia’s aggression.
