DISINFO: Victoria Nuland urges to defend the Ukrainian biological laboratories with arms
SUMMARY
Victoria Nuland, a current member of [US] Biden’s administration, who was responsible for Euromaidan, the violent coup which ousted Ukrainian President Yanukovych in 2014, urges to defend the biological laboratories present in Ukraine with arms. In doing so she admits the existence of factories for chemical warfare.
RESPONSE
Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative portraying the 2013-14 Euromaidan revolution as a coup, laying responsibility for the ensuing Russian aggression on the US, and aiming to deflect any Russian responsibility for the unjustified wide-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, which began on 24 February 2022. The Russian war against Ukraine began in 2014 with the Russian illegal annexation of Crimea and Russia's military involvement and support of separatists in Donbas.
Victoria Nuland's words were taken out of context. The U.S. Department of Defense’s Biological Threat Reduction Program has provided technical support to improve and protect Ukraine’s public health laboratories as they are being targeted by Russian forces as part of the invasion of Ukraine.
Similar disinformation related to biolaboratories in Ukraine have already been debunked by EU vs Disinfo and other independent foreign factcheckers from Myth Detector, FactCheck.org, The Washington Post, USA Today, The Dispatch.
Also recurring disinformation narrative about US biological laboratories in Ukraine
The Euromaidan protests were a spontaneous reaction among large parts of the Ukrainian population, ignited by the decision of former President Yanukovych not to sign the Association Agreement with the European Union in November 2013.
