DISINFO: Western governments exaggerate coronavirus pandemic to strengthen capitalism
SUMMARY
Governments in the EU-Atlanticist-Globalist system are deliberately exaggerating the coronavirus pandemic and are intensifying fear about it among the population. The spread of fear by governments aims to weaken social bonds and to deepen the automation of society. As a result, the financial sector benefits because fear forces people to use payment cards instead of cash. Moreover, the restrictive measures taken by these governments are killing small and medium businesses, that is, national enterprises, but do not affect big transnational trade networks. As a result, global corporate capitalism is being strengthened, globalization is becoming even more perverse and the transition to a world government is accelerating.
RESPONSE
An unfounded conspiracy theory, sharing a recurrent pro-Kremlin narrative about “globalist élites” and multinational corporations using coronavirus in order to pursue their own interests, establish dictatorships and/ or expand profits. This message is consistent with the recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about secret elites, “globalist elites” and “shadow governments” that manipulate global politics, economics and finance, robbing nations of their sovereignty and identity, crushing economies and threatening traditional values. The coronavirus pandemic is not exaggerated. When on 11 March 2020 the WHO declared the COVID-19 outbreak a pandemic, there were more than 118,000 confirmed coronavirus cases in 114 countries. Moreover, emergency measures, such as quarantines and social distancing, have been introduced by governments not to “intensify fear” among the population but to fight the coronavirus pandemic. These measures are tools that democratic governments need to use, for a limited period of time, in order to rapidly and effectively protect the public health of citizens.
