DISINFO: Western media started a terror campaign to increase social control and Russophobia
SUMMARY
Western media initiated a campaign that spread the notion European citizens must prepare to live in a state of perpetual and total war, with Russia portrayed as the adversary. The goal is to cover for an eventual defeat of Ukraine that implies NATO's terrible weakness, evidenced in the last months. The strategic goal is to infuse fear among the population to increase social control, censorship and Russophobia. This justifies exaggerated military expenditure along with cuts in social funding and privatisations to finance this arms race. The geopolitical objective is to preserve Europe's subservience to the US, benefit the US military-industrial complex, and justify the continued necessity for NATO.

This is a conspiracy theory, which lacks any supporting evidence.
It is a response to the recent warnings from multiple top European officials—including Jacek Siewiera, head of Poland’s National Security Bureau; Estonia’s Prime Minister Kaja Kallas; Germany’s Defence Minister Boris Pistorius; the UK’s Army Chief Patrick Saunders; former top NATO Commander Sir Richard Shirreff; the Netherlands’ Army Commander Martin Wijnen; and Romania’s Army Chief Gheorghiță Vlad.
In the past weeks and days, these officials have highlighted the real possibility of Russian aggression against NATO and emphasised the importance of being prepared for such an eventuality.
None of the conspiratorial allegations in the disinformation narrative are substantiated by the warnings presented by the previously mentioned level-headed high-ranking government officials.
