DISINFO: Western sanctions and the puppet regime in Ukraine are a failure
SUMMARY
Defeating Russia "quickly" - with cruel economic sanctions and the forces of puppet Ukraine - did not work out. The architects of the "Ukrainian project" are writhing with anger and impotence.
No one in the West really cares about the post-war fate of the Bandera regime, but another geopolitical failure undermines the remnants of the international authority of the "hegemon", and deprives and poisons the very existence of NATO.
RESPONSE
This is a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative from, challenging the Ukrainian statehood, and claiming that the West is involved in Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.
Not only Western but also many other nations around the world are helping Ukraine repel Russia’s unjustified and unprovoked aggression and do not aim at eliminating Russia statehood. More than 50 states participating in the Ramstein meetings are providing military, financial or other assistance to Ukraine to restore its territorial integrity within its internationally recognised borders. They do this rather than destroy the Russian state.
The nations supporting Ukraine are also striving to find a peaceful solution to the war and welcomes future talks between Ukraine and Russia. The EU unequivocally supported Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s peace formula. It is up to Ukraine to decide when it will hold talks with Russia.
Furthermore, Ukraine is not a "project", but an independent country, that has an independent foreign and security policy, which is not dictated by the West. Pro-Kremlin outlets often use this narrative of different countries being under the American thumb or as so-called 'Western puppets', to imply that their national sovereignty is under threat and that they have limited powers.
Sanctions are a key tool of the EU's Common Foreign and Security Policy and the response to Russia's multiple violation of International law. Read also an earlier detailed analysis of the Russian disinformation narratives about EU sanctions.
